📚Story: The Haunted House Adventure

It was a chilly Halloween evening when Mia and Jake decided to explore the abandoned mansion on the hill. The villagers whispered that it was haunted, but curiosity got the better of the daring duo.

As they walked across the creaky wooden bridge leading to the house, the wind howled like a ghostly warning.

Jake pointed to the dark clouds above the mansion, swirling ominously.

“M-maybe we should turn back,” Jake stammered.

“No way! We’ve come this far,” Mia insisted.

They pushed open the heavy wooden door and stepped inside. Dust swirled through the musty air as their flashlights flickered.

There was a long hallway with ancient portraits hanging between cracked stone pillars.Suddenly, a strange noise came from below the staircase.

“Did you hear that?” Jake whispered nervously.

Mia took a deep breath and led the way. They peeked below the stairs but saw nothing except cobwebs.

A loud thud echoed from a room beside the hallway. Gathering their courage, they tiptoed closer and pushed open the door.

Inside, they found a friendly-looking ghost floating gently above an old piano. “Welcome!” it said with a laugh. “I’ve been waiting for visitors to play music with me!”

Mia and Jake burst out laughing. “This haunted house isn’t so scary after all!” Mia grinned.
